Total Surface Area: Approximately 1,800 acres.
Primary Pools: The chain is divided into four main “pools” or basins:

Middle Lake Conway: The central hub of the chain.
South Lake Conway: Known for being the largest and deepest basin.
Little Lake Conway (North): Often quieter and popular for paddle sports.
Lake Gatlin: Connected to the main chain via a canal under Hoffner Avenue.

Connectivity: The basins are connected by wide, navigable canals. Unlike the narrow, winding canals of Winter Park, these are generally straightforward and easy to navigate for larger powerboats.
Depth: The chain features an average depth of 15 to 20 feet, with some areas in South Lake Conway reaching depths of nearly 30 feet.

Randolph Avenue Boat Ramp: The primary public entrance located on the north side of the chain. It offers paved parking and dual ramps.
Hoffner Avenue Ramp: Provides access specifically through Lake Gatlin.

Boating Culture: Conway is famous for its “sandbar” culture. On weekends, boaters frequently gather at shallow sandy areas to socialize. It is a premier destination for wakeboarding, water skiing, and tubing due to its deep water and lack of underwater hazards.

Fishing: The chain is a top-tier Largemouth Bass fishery. Because the water is so clear, anglers often use “finesse” techniques or fish deeper than they would in more turbid Florida lakes. It also supports healthy populations of Bluegill and Redear Sunfish.

Water Quality: It is consistently ranked among the cleanest lakes in the state. The sandy bottom prevents the “muck” common in other Florida systems, allowing for high visibility and a characteristic turquoise tint on sunny days.
